CQC experts pledge full support to care worker charity campaign
The CQC’s Single Assessment Framework is fast approaching next year. To help social care investors, owners, providers and managers prepare for the regulation overhaul, leading care sector consultants, Fulcrum Care, are hosting an online guidance and Q&A session, in partnership with Social Care Consultants Ltd and Gordons Partnership Solicitors on Friday 28th October. All proceeds raised by the event will be donated in support of The Care Workers’ Charity (CWC), to support current and former care workers with financial grants, mental health support and providing access to vital services during economic hardships.
The live guidance session, ‘Preparing for the CQC Single Assessment Framework’, will focus on the key areas anyone within the social care sector will need to know about how the CQC will regulate care homes in 2023. It will be led by industry experts Tony Thiru, Fulcrum Care CEO, Tim Dallinger, Director of Social Care Consultants Ltd and Neil Grant, Partner at Gordons Partnership Solicitors.
Topics covered by the live guidance and Q&A include:
- What to expect from the Single Assessment Framework
- The revised KLOEs, evidence gathering and 4-point rating scale
- How new regulations will impact social care providers
- What actions social care providers can take now to prepare
- How to maximise new opportunities with the new CQC approach.
All money raised by the expert CQC briefing will be donated to The Care Worker’s Charity.
A Bronze charity sponsor, Fulcrum Care will raise awareness and widen the CWC’s reach, to ensure more care workers are receiving the essential support they need. The Care Worker’s Charity, which operates nationally, supports anyone who is currently or has previously worked in the social care sector.
Tony Thiru, CEO of Fulcrum Care, says: “The Single Assessment Framework will affect every social care provider in England in 2023, so it’s vital that all care homes prepare for the new systems, ratings and inspection methods now – while there is still the opportunity to do so.
“Equally, The Care Workers’ Charity is working tirelessly to help care workers everywhere through financial and emotional strain. By pledging all of the proceeds raised by the talk, we hope to raise awareness for their cause and share our support for those impacted by the cost of living crisis, giving all care workers and their families a safety net during this difficult time.”
Since 2020, The Care Workers’ Charity has supported over 6,166 care workers across the UK with a total of £3.86 million in Crisis, Covid-19, Funeral and Mental Wellbeing and Health Grants. During wider discussions over the lack of support that social care is receiving, the initiative seeks to improve sector resilience and help vulnerable care workers feel valued and supported when they need it most.
Tim Dallinger, Director of Social Care Consultants Ltd adds: “I’m delighted to be collaborating with Tony Thiru and Neil Grant to bring this information to care providers. With the experiences of people who use and work in services due to provide a core component of evidence of compliance, this will be a big shakeup of the traditions many care homes have kept with how they retain their ratings.
“Through our detailed breakdown, we hope to give care providers the preparation they need for the change coming in 2023 and how they can best explore the new opportunities that will come with it.”
Preparing for the CQC Single Assessment Framework will be held online on Friday, 28th October, 12:30 – 14:00. For more information about the event and to register your place, please visit this link.
