Care Sector Digital Revolution & The Pace of Change

Care Sector Digital Revolution & The Pace of Change

Technology is transforming the way we work and communicate and the care sector is no exception.

The pandemic has accelerated the use of technology both in the care home and in the community, with the onset of evolving digital solutions to provide carers with more time to care and to increase diagnostics thus reducing pressure on the NHS.  Thus future Integrated Care Systems and Integrated Care Partnerships, it is hoped, will be a step in the right direction.

Having a digital champion in a care business assists the team’s confidence and upskilling.  Having a ‘go to tech’ person tends to have a positive effect within the business and strengthens staff recruitment and retention.

Investment in employees has taken on a new level during the pandemic with continued greater emphasis on employee health and well being, which in turn increases the sustainability and staff and business resilience.  Technical solutions have also adapted in the training arena with virtual training sessions reaching out to a greater audience.

Bespoke support, for example through the ‘workforce for the future programme’ is available alongside other solutions, to strengthen the training and development of a skilled workforce, increasing in importance with the demands of an ever ageing population.

The digital revolution is here to stay and it is seen as an enhancement to the care provision as digital take up across care homes and the wider care sector evolves.
